Birthday Treat

Today I went and spent my birthday voucher given to me by my walking pals on a massage and a facial (and eyebrows etc) We started with the massage. I had to change into a disposable g string. "Put the large bit at the front" Sophie instructed. Large bit? Honey, I'm much bigger than that down there!!
"This is a Swedish massage, so its not all airy fairy, but just let me know if I am pushing too deep" was how Sophie began. It was a back, neck and shoulders massage. I found it very energetic. The feeling when she stopped was heaven, and she certainly has released some knots and tension - very relaxing later in the day.
Then after the eyebrow shape and eyelash tint we began on the facial. Layer after layer was put on, some were taken off, some were steamed off and some just plain soaked in to my thirtsty skin.
While the steamer was on she gave me a hand and arm massage, and while the oils were soaking in she gave me a foot massage.
So I'm feeling very pampered. My skin feels silky to touch. I'm not sure it looks too much better from the wrinkle point of view. Maybe I should step back from the mirror.
A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon - it was just under 3 hours!!

We love Ohiwa!

This is a picture of the bathing suit I wore! I looked like this only with dark hair.
Had a lovely Waitangi weekend - its really great to have Tuesday as my nonteaching day this year when there are lots of Monday holidays. The weather was fine but cloudy - perfect for two nine holes of golf and a long walk/run. We had Jill and David next door for drinks and chats and croquet. The surf was warm and powerful, and I felt strong enough to have 3 long sessions without feeling unsafe.

It was a pretty full camping ground but mainly couples.
