Nobby's Beach

 Sunday, 17th  April 2022

It was Easter Sunday, and two youngest children got up to find whether the Easter Bunny had been hopping around the garden and leaving Easter treats. Two older children looked wistfully on at what they had grown out of, but fortunately there was plenty to go around.

It was a stunning day, so we piled into an assortment of cars and headed off to Nobby's Beach which is not far from the centre of Newcastle.

A few hardy souls in - mainly wetsuits.
Then we began the walk out to Nobby's Lighthouse - a round trip of 3 km, so we wore off a bit of that chocolate!

Apparently this breakwater was built by early convicts, but proved so beneficial to shipping that it has been well maintained.
There goes another ship by. Some of them are carrying (((coal))))

Claudia, Millie and Simon begin the trip back down from the lighthouse.

Such a clear, bright day.

This is the Dog Friendly Beach where dogs are allowed off their leashes to play on sand and surf. Apparently you wouldn't want to swim here if you were a human.

Back home and Simon put a big roast of lamb on. Lots of yummy roast veges too. We had it late afternoon while it was still nice to sit outside.

After Apple Crumble for dessert we began the games, organised by Theo. There was card Monopoly, which no-one really understood and Kahoots which is a team game which you play on the phone. All a lot of fun. Then there was basketball hoops - Claudia had a lower target and scooped the pool!

Card Monopoly was a team game.
