Continuing the journey to Jaipur

The journey is long, through rural India The lady in the bright yellow saree is shaping cow dung patties and drying them on the kerbside. These are ideal fuel for slow cooking curries.

Oh dear, we get a flat tyre and we have to pull over to the shelter shoulder for Vikram to change it. The shelter shoulder is for people to walk or ride their motorcycles whilst texting on their cellphones, or most commonly for men to pull over and have a pee! Its still quite a risky area for Vikram to work in!
We are a bit annoyed when a stop - touted as afternoon tea stop - turns out to be a jewellery factory. many of the designs are very traditional, but hugely expensive, and I think Duncan is relieved that nothing really takes my fancy.
Finally we arrive at our hotel, the Marriot. We get given a bindi (I'm not sure that this should really be for men.) Again, a wonderful hotel is spoiled by maintenance flaws. I put it down to all the cleaners being men!

This is the swimming pool area, and I am dying to break out my togs - but they are preparing it for yet another wedding.

At least they have some good (Chilean) wine and excellent meals. The icing on the cake is when Duncan's American Express card gives him 20% off.
